Having loved visiting the Outer Hebrides since working there just after university, it was great to be invited through LA Media to film the aerials for this feature film directed by Ben Sharrock. I’ve shot several feature films since becoming a drone pilot in 2014, but this was the first time I’d worked on my own on a film, & not in a team of two or three. It’s stressful enough on set as it is, but operating solo added extra layers as both my flying & filming needed to be on point, & in front of all the assembled cast & crew. I flew a DJI Inspire 2 with X7 Super 35mm camera & various lenses, filming in 6K CinemaDNG.
