Ballachulish Bridge celebrates its 40th birthday this month. It carries the A82 (Glasgow to Inverness) trunk road, saving a 15 mile detour round Loch Leven. On completion the bridge apparently gained the nickname “King Kong’s coat-hanger”, though to be honest I hadn’t heard that until this evening. Great name!  Ballachulish Bridge.
